Things I'd Tell My Younger Self

By younger, I mean teenage and maybe even early 20s.

1.) You really don't know everything so just stop.

2.) Your Mother is right.

3.) Don't spend your savings on a new car.

4.) Your Grandma's advice "nothing good happens after midnight" is usually correct.

5.) Money doesn't grow on trees. This seems obvious but since I've been working full time and living on my own, I've really come to terms with the value of a dollar.

6.) Credit cards ar bad. Like, really bad. Don't charge what you can't pay off each month!

7.) Look for a coupon or sale before you buy that.

8.) Your parents really do "get it" so stop telling them that they don't. They were once your age, as hard as that is to believe.

9.) Don't chase people who aren't worth it. Stay true to real friends.

10.) Hug more

There are probably some other things I'd tell my younger self but it's probably best left off the blog.

So, what would you tell your younger self?

Fleetwood Mac at Madison Square Garden

Happy Monday, all! Also Happy Birthday to my real life best friend of 27 years, Mean Ang!

Last Thursday, my husband took me to see Fleetwood Mac at MSG for my birthday. We decided to spend the night in Hoboken, NJ because we knew the concert would end late and plus, we both had the day off on Friday.

They played a bunch of my favorites! We got bumped down to the 1st section and we were 16 rows from the stage! Despite paying $11 for 1 beer and Saro feeling a little under the weather, the concert was great! In their late 60s, they can still rock it out.

These were the best pictures I could get because of the lighting.

Have a good week! We're preparing for a blizzard in the Northeast today.

Currently

Hey everyone! I realize I haven't posted in over a week. I just can't seem to come up with anything to write about. I'm still doing Piyo (almost 7 months completed now!) and I'm planning on running a 5K on Valentine's Day and a 10K in early June. According to my endocrinologist, I've lost 6 lbs since September.

Currently, I am trying to get over a bump in this road called life. I'm being too hard on myself, among other things that are bothering me.

Minor example - if I miss a day of planned exercise or something comes up after work and I can't, I feel guilty about it but then reason with myself as to why it's OK to miss a day. It sounds silly and it's actually really bothering me that it's bothering me. Make sense?

I can't seem to get out of this funk and I'm driving myself crazy with whys, what-ifs & back-and-forths (not a word? Meh) in my head.

Maybe it's winter blues. Maybe it's too many things going on at once. Maybe it's a combination of everything.

Any tips/strategies for getting out of a funk when you're in one?

On a positive note, a 3 day weekend is ahead plus I'm only working 2.5 days next week. So there's that and for that, I am thankful! I'm hoping to get some rest.

2014 Map My Run Recap

I love the Map My Run app to keep track of all workouts - running, walking, Piyo, etc.

In 2014, I did 336 workouts! Mind you, on some days I did two different workouts - say running and Piyo but I'd say I worked out about 250 days last year.

I don't really have a resolution this year. I just plan to keep truckin' with my workouts and be happy and healthy.

Happy New Year!
