We've been married for 9 months today! Wow that went quick.
Needless to say, my wedding gown has been in a box since mid May. I'd like to recycle it in one way or another. I guess I could shorten it but I'm not sure how I'd dress down a lace wedding gown! I obviously couldn't wear it to another wedding but perhaps on a fancy date night out.
Here are some more ideas:
1.) Do a "trash the dress" photo session.
2.) Make a throw pillow, or two for our bed.
3.) Make a christening gown (for who, I have no idea lol).
4.) Sell it on eBay. I couldn't do this because I know I'd regret it.
5.) Donate it to a theater. I probably couldn't do this one either, ha!
6.) Photo album cover. This reminds me that we haven't ordered our album yet!
7.) Wear it for a Halloween or costume party.
How would you recycle your wedding gown?
Have you?
If I am able to let my dress go, I want to donate it to a organization that makes Angel Gowns. They use wedding dresses to make gowns for babies that pass from pea mature birth. It's such a sweet thing for parents to get in remembrance of their tiny child.
ReplyDeleteI love these ideas... I have to be honest, we've been married for four months and I haven't even had mine boxed yet. It's still in my father-in-laws house in Connecticut (we live in South Carolina and I had no idea how to bring it down on a plane haha). I love the idea of a christening gown for a future child, but I agree, I could never sell it or give it away!
ReplyDeleteTime for some honesty...my dress is sitting in its garmet bag still! It's been half a year already! Oops...

I don't have a wedding dress yet, but these are great ideas! I know some people who have donated theirs! I think I'd be too sentimental for that, though.
ReplyDeleteMy dress is neatly packed up in a box. I haven't looked at it since our wedding day, which makes me so sad. I want to do something with it, I just don't know what…
