Wedding Wednesday: Centerpieces

I'm linking up for Wedding Wednesday again!

Today, I wanted to talk centerpieces.  I *think* we're opting out of floral-only centerpieces.  I am thinking lanterns or big glass hurricanes with large candles on top of sand or rocks.  Here are some similar things as to what I have in mind.

The lantern would be higher up and not as many flowers.

Not Christmasy, though :)

We definitely want great looking centerpieces but ones that are budget friendly.  Keep in mine we probably need 15 and large floral arrangements can start at $200 each.  I saw the large lanterns online for less than $25 each and I also check Ruffled Blog. for gently used items that brides don't need anymore.

What do you think?  What did you do for your wedding or what would you like to do?

  1. Isn't it awful how expensive flowers are? It can really get out of hand! We have about 24 tables and are having half with floral bouquets. The other half will have hurricanes and floating candles with baby's breath around the base. It will still be pretty without a ton of flowers - and much more affordable! I really like your lantern idea. I love lanterns!! Thanks for linking up!

  2. I love the lantern style! We actually used large mason jars as center pieces and filled the tables with votives. I loved they way our table settings turned out! http://www.foreveryoungtheblog.com/2013/10/our-wedding-reception.html

  3. If you're trying to keep costs down definitely add something else besides flowers. We chose to make our centerpieces and used cupcakes with flowers on top and sprinkled around them. They were beautiful and super thrifty.
